On Friday 30th June 2000 I was back at the Town Hall, Cheltenham to see ROLF HARRIS.
The evening started with a demonstration of the Didgeree-Doo played by someone called Bear who was actually a member of Rolf's band. This went on for about fifteen minutes and was quite funny as we had to cheer everytime Bear said 'ROLF HARRIS'.
After this the whole band came on and started with "(I can't get no) Satisfaction". They then continued with "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport".
For the first few tunes I could not take my eyes off the MARK WALKER who was playing percussion and hitting the bongos and symbols with his hands.
Other songs performed were "Dedicated Follower Of Fashion", "Stairway To Heaven", "Propper Cuppa Coffee", "Eefin' and Eyfin' Freak" (followed by a demonstration), "Angels" (which I am getting a bit bored with having already heard it performed by 'GENE PITNEY', 'GERRY MARSDEN', 'THE CHIP SHOP BOYS', and 'BATTLEFIELD'). Some other tracks performed were "Waltzing Matilda", "Sunarise" (which I thought was brilliant), and an excellent new song which has not even been released yet called "Fine Day".
When they performed "Two Little Boys" a tear came to my eyes, may be it was because it is a sad tune, but I think it was that I remembered when I was a little boy.
